THE MARTIAN REFUGEES

OTHERWORLDLY NEIGHBORS · Book 2

They crossed the impossible to escape extinction.

They crossed the impossible to escape extinction.

By the time the Genshi reach Mars, most of their civilization is already gone.

Their passage has failed. Their fleet is shattered. The few thousand survivors who remain are trapped on a world their bodies were never built to endure. Every breath depends on damaged machines. Every repair consumes parts they cannot replace. Mars is not a new home. It is the only place left where they might stay alive.

Then they discover they are not alone.

Human machines are crossing the surface. Signals arrive from Earth. More missions are coming.

To reveal themselves could invite help, fear, or destruction. To stay hidden means interfering with a civilization that already believes Mars belongs to its future. And every attempt at concealment leaves evidence someone may eventually understand.

As the settlement divides over whether contact is survival or suicide, the refugees must decide how much harm they are willing to cause in order to remain unseen.

Now the Martian Refugees may have survived only to be mistaken for the first threat humanity finds waiting on another world.
